Team Spinfast seeks to score big at the second “Drone Clash” event at TU DELPHT. 12 Teams fight for 50k price money.
With growing popularity amongst hobby tekkies around the world, drones can sometimes be a real threat to their environment. Not only the tendency of operators having their aircrafts flying willingly in unsecured airspace is the reason why scientists around the world are doing serious research on how to develop countermeasures. Whether there are criminal backgrounds or not.
The Gatwick incident for example would have been a minor problem, if the airport would´ve had the appropriate way to neutralize the drone (if there ever was any).
But in order to fight drones you have to analyze them first. So it comes that the idea for a tournament where drones fight drones was born by a small team at the TU Delpht in the Netherlands and in 2017 the first DRONE CLASH took place.
Luckily, the event itself is everything but “anti-drone”. Since it basically embraces everyone in the hobby: scientists, “MC Gyvers”, inventors and pilots the drone community in europe battled for the first win with great enthusiasm.
Now, the second edition of the DRONE CLASH is about to gow down and we also put a team together. Coming in for the price money of 30.000 € on the first place, SPINFAST teams up with Germany´s company GRAUPNER to make real use of their fantastic Drone-Ball-Sweeper.
On the 16.03 the event will be streamed live from every angle possible when carbon cracks and plastic melts – you can witness it first hand.
